You can check your PNR status online or at the ticket counters of railway stations. If the status shows CNF , the ticket is confirmed.

What is PNR

PNR stands for Passenger Name Record. It is a unique 10-digit number that is generated at the time when a user does the booking train ticket at a ticket counter or online through the IRCTC.

It provides information regarding the details of travel printed on the railway ticket . This ten digit uniquenumber could be seen at the top right hand side of the rail ticket.

The Centre of Railway Information Systems (CRIS) stores this number after booking your ticket. With a group booking of six passengers, there will be one PNR number as well.

PNR Status

A PNR status would inform you about the reservation status is confirmed or not and if status is not CNF it is still not confirmed.

PNR status shows Passenger Name , Travel Train number and Name , Timing , Station information and Status of reservation .

PNR Status will be CNF, if your ticket is confirmed.

It will be WL, if your ticket is on the Waiting List.

It will be RAC, if your ticket has Reservation Against Cancellation.

On confirm PNR status CNF it will show your seat number and the coach number.

It will state at what time you will board the train and when you will reach your destination.

A PNR number on a train ticket can be divided into two parts and they are:

A ticket is booked from a PRS (Passenger Reservation System). The first digit of the starting three digits of a PNR number depends on the station where the train starts.

The two succeeding numbers of the first three digits signify the ticket booked from a specific PRS centre.

number starts from 1 is issued from the Secunderabad PRS  2 or 3 is issued from New Delhi PRS number starts from 4 or 5 is issued from Chennai PRS and number starts from 6 or 7 is issued from Calcutta PRS , number starts from 8 or 9 is issued from Mumbai PRS.

The remaining seven digits are only present to give the PNR number an identity.

P1-CNF means that the Passenger 1 of the booked ticket has been allotted a confirmed seat.However the seat number is not assigned as of now, the seat number will be assigned after the final cart is prepared.

There are chances that the berth of other passengers in the ticket might get confirmed in future.

 

PNR in Hindi

पीएनआर का मतलब होता है पैसेंजर नेम रिकॉर्ड। यह 10 अंको वाला नंबर होता है। रेलवे में व्यवस्था है कि अगर आपको वेटिंग टिकट मिला है तो आप पीएनआर नंबर के जरिए उसकी वास्तविक स्थिति जान सकते हैं।

यह नंबर सफर करने वाले को यात्रा के संबंध में जानकारी भी देता है, ट्रेन के आगमन और प्रस्‍थान की जानकारी के अलावा इस पीएनआर नंबर से बुकिंग स्‍टेटस जाना जा सकता है ।

हर बार जब आप टिकट बुक करते हैं तो आपको एक नया पीएनआर नंबर मिलता है और यह ट्रेन टिकट के ऊपर लिखा होता हैं ।

पीएनआर नंबर से टिकट कंफर्म है या वेटिंग लिस्‍ट (WL) में है या रद्दीकरण के आधार पर आरक्षण (RAC) की स्थिति जानी जा सकती है ।

पीएनआर से कन्फर्म टिकट के यात्रियों की जानकारियों के अलावा उनके गाड़ी , कोच, सीट नंबर आदि पता चलते हैं ।

सेंटर ऑफ रेलवे इनफॉर्मेशन सिस्टम यानी कि CRIS, एक डाटाबेस है जिसमें सभी यात्रियों की पूरी जानकारी होती है ।

यह सिस्टम हर उस व्यक्ति का 10 डिजिट का पीएनआर नंबर बनाता है, जिसने IRCTC , टिकट काउंटर अथवा किसी अन्य तरह से भारतीय रेलवे में टिकट बुक किया हो ।

 

पीएनआर स्थिति की जांच कैसे करें?

भारतीय रेलवे की वेबसाइट के जरिए पीएनआर स्टेटस की जांच हो सकती है। इसके अलावा आप फोन कॉल करके या एसएमएस भेजकर भी पीएनआर स्थिति जांच पाएंगे।

हालांकि आजकल कई वेबसाइट और एप्पलीकेशन में भी PNR चेक लिंक होता है ।

फोन कॉल द्वारा

आप चाहें तो अपने मोबाइल से 139 नंबर पर कॉल करके पीएनआर स्टेटस जान सकते हैं, बस आपको आईवीआर द्वारा दिए जा रहे निर्देशों का पालन करना होगा।

एसएमएस द्वारा

आप अपने मोबाइल में “PNR {पीएनआर नंबर}” लिखने के बाद 5888 या 139 या 5676747 या 57886 पर एसएमएस भेज सकते हैं। इसके बाद आपको एसएमएस मिलेगा जिसमें पीएनआर स्टेटस की जानकारी मौजूद होगी।

PNR Result

CAN मतलब Cancelled (रद्द)- यात्री की टिकट रद्द ।

CNF मतलब Confirm (सीट पक्की)- आप की टिकट कन्फर्म हो गयी है ।

RAC Reservation Against Cancellation (रद्द करने पर आरक्षण)- यात्री को यात्रा की अनुमति है, दो यात्रियों को एक ही बर्थ दी जाती है। अगर यात्रा के दौरान कोई बर्थ खाली है तो पूरा बर्थ मिल सकता है ।

WL (Waitlist) – यात्री को प्रतीक्षा सूची वाला eticket के साथ यात्रा करने की अनुमति नहीं है गाड़ी के 30 मिनट प्रस्थान से पहले ट्रेन का टिकट रद्द किया जा सकता है ।

RLWL (Remote Location Waitlist) – छोटे स्टेशन में सीटों के अलग-अलग कोटा है और इसकी प्रतीक्षा सीटें आरएलडब्ल्यूएल की स्थिति दी गई हैं जिसका मतलब है अन्य स्टेशन से लिस्ट क्लियर होगी ।

PQWL (Pooled Quota Waitlist) – यह कोटा मध्यवर्ती स्टेशनों के बीच यात्रा करने वाले यात्रियों के लिए है और सामान्य प्रतीक्षा सूची से अलग प्रतीक्षा सूची है।

NR NoRoom – कोई और बुकिंग की अनुमति नहीं है ।

NOSB  का मतलब No Seat Berth – बच्चे का फुल किराया नहीं दिया है तो सीट नहीं मिलेगी ।
