Background: Finance Minister Announced that 2 public sector banks will privatise in FY 2021-22. Government allocated task of selection of Private banks to Niti Aayog . Niti Aayog confirmed few days back that banks which were part of merger and amalgamation previous year will not privatise. Accordingly Initially Niti Aayog selected 6 Banks for Privatisation. These 6 banks were Bank Of India , Central Bank Of India , Indian Overseas Bank , bank Of Maharashtra , Oriental Bank Of Commerce & Uco Bank
