India UK Flight resume on 8th of January 2021.

India UK Flight will resume on 8th of January 2021. The Inbound and outbound flight between India and the UK that were suspended few days back by the Indian centre government . Decison was taken over the detection of a highly transmissible coronavirus strain in the UK. Now Indian Government announced that flights will resume from 8th January 2021 .Announcement done by Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri today .

After this announcement India became second country to lift ban on UK Flights after Norway .

“It has been decided that flights between India and UK will resume from 8 Jan 2021. Operations till 23 Jan will be restricted to 15 flights per week each for carriers of the two countries to & from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru & Hyderabad only. @DGCAIndia will issue the details shortly” , Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri tweeted on twitter .

These Flights between UK and 4 major countries will resume under restricted norms . Government will announce detail guidelines shortly .

When UK Flights banned by India :

The centre had initially announced the ban on flights from the UK from December 23 till December 31. On Wednesday, the government extended the suspension of flights till 7th January 2021. It is good news to Indians who stuck in Britain due to flight banned by Government of India .

The strain which was first detected in September. UK authorities confirmed about strain in December. New Corona Strain is said to be more infectious than other strains of the virus. At present more than 50000 persons tested covid positive on daily basis in United Kingdom . Hospitals are also almost full by covid patients. After announcement of new corona strain many countries including India banned flight operation to an from UK. New virus was first detected in India last week in a traveller who had returned from the UK recently.Few new cases of the strain were detected in India on Friday, taking the total of those affected to 29. All 29 patients have been kept in isolation at designated health facilities.
